Utrecht, Dec. 3, 2024 -Hogeschool Utrecht (HU) and the EDIH Digital Hub
Northwest launches five Learning Communities to support SMEs in
innovation with Artificial Intelligence (AI). These communities offer entrepreneurs a
collective innovation department where, together with experts, researchers, teachers and
fellow SMEs gain knowledge, develop pilots and apply AI directly in their
company. The goal: to build together a future full of innovation and growth.
Innovating with AI: a collaborative approach
Many SMBs see the potential of AI for their business, but find it difficult to free up the
needed time, space and expertise. Learning Communities are designed
to address this challenge. Small groups of entrepreneurs work in a
customized program on a specific AI issue that is directly relevant to their business.
In doing so, they are supported by the latest knowledge, technologies and the
network of Hogeschool Utrecht, ROM Utrecht Region and other partners in this project.
Themes of the Learning Communities

What do participants get?
Learning Communities participants receive:
– Annual Program: A customized program around a specific AI issue. – Collective Innovation Department: Collaboration with other entrepreneurs, researchers,
teachers and students. – Expert support: T o access the latest knowledge and technology. – Hands-on modules: Hands-on workshops, pilots and inspiration and innovation sessions. – Immediately applicable results: Concrete solutions to their business challenges.
Practical information
Applications for the Learning Communities are open as of today. Companies in the
construction, mobility, logistics and finance sectors are invited to
participate free of charge. The first workshop of the Learning Community AI & Ground Sensing will take place
