Machine Learning Technical Advisor 

Monica was born in Pavia, Italy. She received her BSc (2013) and MSc (2015) in Computer Engineering from the University of Pavia. She later moved to the Netherlands, where she earned her Ph.D. (2022) in Applied Mathematics from the University of Groningen. Throughout her academic journey, Monica focused on data-driven modeling and control of unknown dynamical systems.

At SURF, Monica is a Machine Learning technical advisor. Her primary focus is on end-to-end AI for Science, where she advocates for and facilitates the integration of machine learning and deep learning within the fields of science and engineering.

Within EuroCC Netherlands, Monica supports industry and research entities in their AI projects. She remains actively connected with the NCC network in Europe, participating in initiatives and disseminating knowledge about HPC/AI at both national and international levels.
